INTRODUCTION

PLEASE TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF AND THE BUSINESS YOU STARTED?

Hi, my name is Julia and I am a special education teacher who wanted to build a business where I can teach women skills in self-improvement via a podcast. I also do 1:1 coaching and educate women in business on how to market their businesses and products using podcasting and Pinterest.

THE JOURNEY

PLEASE DESCRIBE THE PROCESS OF LAUNCHING YOUR BUSINESS.

I started my business in the Spring of 2019 and hired a 10k coach to help me design and create a fully automated website and sales funnel. The idea for my company came from the idea of writing my self help-memoir over a decade ago, but fear stopped that idea from becoming a reality.

I started the company from scratch, and the feedback was great. Most people thought I was insane and didn’t understand what I was visioning, but my family and close friends were very supportive.

WHAT DOES YOUR TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE AND HOW DO YOU STAY PRODUCTIVE?

I have a full-time job and work at least 15 hours per week on my business. I have been working hard to set block schedules and boundaries, so it doesn’t consume all of my spare time. I need to have self-care time as well.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR BIGGEST CHALLENGE ALONG THE WAY?

My biggest challenge was facing the fear of pressing the record button and starting a podcast.

WHAT STRATEGY DID YOU USE TO GROW YOUR BUSINESS? AND HOW?

I used social media to grow my business, which was done all organic by myself. I am creating social media graphics for free and have set up a huge Pinterest page where I find ideal clients, funnel people to my website, and show for free.

WHAT IS YOUR VISION FOR THE FUTURE OF BUSINESS?

My future goal is to replace my teaching income and do my business full time.

RECOMMENDATIONS & FINAL THOUGHTS

PLEASE RECOMMEND ANY RESOURCES AND TOOLS THAT YOU USE TO RUN YOUR BUSINESS.

On a daily base, I use Calendy, Canva, Zoom, and Pinterest.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE BUSINESS BOOKS, PODCASTS OR BLOGS?

I regularly listen to Angie Lee Show Podcast.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO OTHER WOMEN WHO WANT TO START THEIR OWN BUSINESS?

Just jump and do it!

You can always go back to your regular job if it doesn’t work out.

WHAT BUSINESS IDEA YOU HAVE THAT YOU ARE WILLING TO SHARE WITH OTHERS?

Any product and/or content business related to Mental Health. There are so many women and people online looking for the help you have within your area of expertise.
